Paul studied Economics at the London School of Economics. Following graduation, he joined the city investment bank Granville & Co in 1987. He established the Leeds office for Granville in 1992 and was appointed to the company’s main board in 1996. Paul was then instrumental in the sale of the business to R W Baird & Co, a US investment bank, in 1999.

In 2004, Paul founded MacIntosh James & Partners. Today, he remains a major shareholder and the company’s Chief Executive, which involves him overseeing the strategic growth and direction of the firm. In addition, Paul is still fully involved in the wealth planning of his long-term clients, who are primarily business owners and professionals.
